Protecting the Future of Our Coastal Ecosystems

About WA Environmental Trust
Current Investigations
The Trust is presently conducting a comprehensive investigation into alleged collusion between government and private sector actors that may be facilitating large-scale environmental degradation.
Specifically, WAET is examining:
- Two Western Australian state government departments
- Seventeen private corporations
Preliminary findings suggest coordinated actions that could be contributing to the systematic destruction of sensitive reef systems, including critical habitats for coral, sponge gardens, and associated marine species.
These actions, if substantiated, may constitute serious breaches of public trust, environmental regulations, and ethical responsibilities under both state and federal environmental frameworks.
Our Objectives
WAET seeks to:
- Uncover and document acts of environmental harm or regulatory failure
- Ensure public transparency around environmental approvals and industry activities
- Advocate for meaningful restoration and reparations where damage has occurred
- Support legislative and policy reform to better protect WA’s marine assets

Commitment to Independence
As a privately funded organisation, the Trust maintains strict independence from government, industry, and political influence. Our work is driven by a singular purpose: to uphold the integrity and resilience of Western Australia’s marine ecosystems.
